Mike’s the Stupid News: Fugitive Taunts Police on Facebook, They Use it to catch Him
DICAPRIO, HE AIN'T: A New York fugitive tried to borrow a trick from the elusive con artist that Leonardo DiCaprio played in the movies by taunting cops with a Facebook status that read: "Catch me if you can, I'm in Brooklyn."
Victor Burgos was being sought by the Utica Police Department on multiple arrest warrants, and after his mug shot was featured on the department's website listing its 10 most wanted last month, he threw down the challenge on Facebook.
Unfortunately for Burgos, tracking skills have improved over the years, and since his post helped them narrow their search to Brooklyn, authorities were able to hone in on the apartment he was hiding in within hours. Ironically, Victor was sitting at a computer with his Facebook page open when the task force busted in and took him down.
