Mike’s the Stupid News: Armed Robber Convicted Because He wrote about it in Day Planner

NOTE TO SELF ... STOP MAKING NOTES TO SELF: A British man gave new meaning to the term "organized crime" by getting himself arrested by noting his plan to commit armed robbery on his desk calendar.

Back in 2010, Jonathan Ochola scribbled the entry "Go Portsmouth armed robbery happens" on his planner, but later denied having anything to do with the stickup of a bookmaking parlor. Unfortunately for him, he also left his DNA at the scene of the crime. When presented with the overwhelming evidence at his trial this week, he tried to pin the crime on his accomplice, insisting he was tricked into taking part, but a jury didn't buy it, instead convicting him on all charges.
