The Mike and Tricia Annual Easter Basket Drive got off to a great start over the weekend when students from UTEP's Upward Bound Program swung by the radio station and dropped off 98 baskets!

We collected another 47 at the Northeast stop on Monday. One of our listeners that dropped by the Wal-Mart on Dyer and Fred Wilson with baskets was Mia Valdespino. Mia turned 9 recently and instead of presents for herself, asked that party guests bring an Easter basket for our Drive.

Harmony School of Innovation Activities Coordinator Michelle Merritt and a few of the school's students helped out our cause as well bringing 27 baskets to the radio station.

We'd also like to thank Laura Schroeder, a teacher at Rosa Guerrero Elementary, for the 25 baskets she collected, and YOU for all you've done to help us reach our minimum goal of 500 store bought pre-assembled Easter baskets. All baskets collected and those bought with your monies will be donated to the children housed or helped out by agencies such as The Rescue Mission of El Paso, The Center against Family Violence, Aliviane, The Salvation Army, and The Transitional Living Center to name just a few.
