Memorial Day Is More Than a Three Day Weekend
Like a lot of Americans, you’ll probably spend Memorial Day in a backyard with friends and family eating some type of grilled meat and mayonnaise-based salad. But it’s important to remember that today isn’t called “beer and burger day.” It’s Memorial Day, and it’s called that for a reason.
In short, it’s a day set aside to remember the men and women who have lost their lives serving our country. So take a moment out of your day to honor these fallen heroes. Officially, you’re asked to do so at 3 p.m with a minute of silence, but whatever works for you. Just make sure you acknowledge in some way those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. They’re the reason why we have the freedoms we do today.
