But the truth is that narcolepsy is a very serious affliction.

And now thanks to a dog named Idefix, he is the first dog to ever be trained to give assistance to someone who suffers from narcolepsy.

Idefix is a 5 year old mixed breed that is currently at his owner’s side, Annick from Belgium, who suffers up to 6 narcoleptic attacks a day.

Now by her side, he is able to wake her when she falls asleep, which is giving Annick a chance to live an independent lifestyle.

Just another reason why they say that a dog is man’s best friend!
