El Paso’s newest residents are baby boys.

The Hospitals of Providence welcomed the first baby born in El Paso in 2019. That distinction belongs to Javier Alexander Reyes, born a little over an hour past the stroke of midnight New Year's Day at the hospital's east campus.

According to a post on the hospital's Facebook page, Javier "proudly made his entrance on January 1, 2019, at 1:31am and weighing in at 7lbs 12oz."

Approximately two hours later on the other side of town, Tieanna and Spc. Nathaniel Washington welcomed Alonzo Francisco Washington into the world, "their first born and the first born at WBAMC in 2019!"

Happy birth day, little ones! Sorry we've messed everything up for you already. And congratulations, moms, on the births of your sweet, adorable little screaming, pooping money vacuums :).
