David Ogden Stiers passed away this weekend from cancer. He was 75 years old. Stiers was one of my favorite actors from one of my favorite series, M*A*S*H. He played Major Charles Emerson Winchester who replaced Major Frank Burns in the Swamp. He was an amazing actor and such a complex character. I really was sad to hear that he had passed away, but I'll be you didn't know that you heard his voice in a couple of your favorite Disney movies.

He voiced Dr. Jumba Jookiba from the Lilo & Stitch movies, he narrated a lot of Winnie the Pooh movies, he voice Cogsworth the clock and was the narrator in Beauty and the Beast. The scene above is my favorite from Beauty and the Beast because you can almost hear the Major Winchester voice coming out of Cogsworth when he tells Beast to be genteel and mannerly when demanding that Belle join him for dinner.

It's a shame to lose such a talented man, but I'm so glad to be able to watch M*A*S*H almost every day to be able to see David Ogden Stiers. Rest in peace, sir.
