Maroon 5 just dropped their newest song, 'Maps' -- the first single from their upcoming album, 'V.'

Adam Levine puts those trademark falsetto vocals to work on the upbeat track, belting out the chorus with a fervor:

"All the roads you took came back to me / So I’m following the map that leads to you," he sings. "The map that leads to you / Ain’t nothing I can do / The map that leads to you…"

Though the chorus sounds sweet, the rest of the verses actually paint a darker picture -- one of a lover abandoning her boyfriend.

"I was there for you in your darkest times / I was there for you in your darkest nights," Levine croons. "But I wonder where were you when I was at my worst / Down on my knees, and you said you had my back / So I wonder where were you?"

The fast-paced, drum-heavy song will be featured on 'V,' which is set to drop on September 2. Listen to it above!
