Mariachi Vargas Set to Perform One Night Only in El Paso

The universally renowned and acclaimed Mariachi Vargas De Tecalitlan will perform one night only on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016 at The Plaza Theatre with special guest, Yolanda Del Rio.

Internationally acclaimed as “the best mariachi in the world,” the group comes to The Plaza Theatre for a rare El Paso-area appearance. Today the group is composed of two trumpets, one harp, one vihuela, guitar, guitarron, guitara and seven violins.

One of the most successful ranchera singers, Yolanda del Río, was born in Pachuca in Hidalgo state. Del Río began singing as a child, and performed on radio and at festivals and eventually sold almost 20 million records around the world, capturing a Grammy Nomination in 1984. Currently, Mariachi Vargas De Tecalitlan continues to record and tour internationally.
