The San Jacinto Plaza renovation took way longer than originally expected, but it’s all good El Paso. The reopening of the park means it can now be worked into the various festivals and celebrations that take place downtown.

And the first major bash that will utilize the plaza since its makeover began in the summer of 2013 will be the Mariachi Loco Music Festival this upcoming Mother's Day weekend.

The 3-day family-friendly celebration will take place in and around the square May 6 – 8, and feature special performances by renowned Ranchera star Aida Cuevas, and San Antonio native Sebastien de la Cruz, who made a name for himself in the mariachi world when he competed on America’s Got Talent in 2013.
