Chalk the Block has become one of El Paso's biggest family-friendly festivals, and this year should be no different. Each year in addition to the namesake sidewalk chalk art that everyone is given the chance to take part in, there are food vendors, live music, and local arts and crafts.

On Wednesday, August 24, the City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department will announce the line-up for this year’s Chalk the Block. The festival will be held on October 14, 15, and 16 in the Downtown Arts District and will feature chalk art and installations, as well as activities at the El Paso Museum of Art and El Paso Museum of History.

When Chalk the Block first began there were 12 artists and 5,000 people attended, but the festival has grown to more than 200 artists, vendors, musicians and installations from around the world. It is definitely an amazing happening right on the streets of downtown El Paso.

As soon as the lineup is announced for this year's Chalk the Block, we will let you know all the details.
