Las Cruces Police arrested two teens after being suspected of burglarizing parked vehicles that were left unlocked in the Elks Drive area of Las Cruces.

Anthony Torres, 17, and 16-year-old Deacon Castillo are charged with one count each of aggravated burglary, conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary, possession of burglary tools, five counts of auto burglary and five counts of conspiracy to commit auto burglary.

The vehicles that were burglarized were in the neighborhood between Dale and Spitz Avenue on Elks Drive in Las Cruces. A Las Cruces Police deputy was dispatched out onto a burglary in progress and found the two shortly after 3 a.m. in the street. The officer found a .22 caliber handgun that was stolen from a vehicle on the 2900 block of Devondale Drive on the teens.

The teens were arrested and booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center without bond.
