I bet you're thinking it's an adult team, right? If so you're wrong! 6 and 7 year olds have been personally invited by ESPN to compete in a Soccer tournament in Orlando, Florida where only the top 25 in the nation will compete!

Congrats to the Las Cruces Tumbleweeds, this group of kids is something else. They have been invited to play in a very prestigious tournament. They rank 6th in the nation! The NATION! And 1st in the State of New Mexico.

These kids practice three times a week with the team and in their own time just to qualify for this opportunity to place in this national tournament. The kids themselves (not just their parents) have made the effort to fundraise to make this opportunity possible. In January 2017, there will be a 3 on 3 tournament that will be held in the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando, Florida. This tournament will only accept the top 25 teams in the nation to compete for a national title.

The Las Cruces, NM U8 Tumbleweeds soccer team is qualified to compete for this title. They are currently ranked first in the state of New Mexico, third in the Southwest region and fourth nationally. Theses kids have played as a team for three and a half years and have grown together on and off of the field. We will keep you posted on their progress and how they do in the tourney in January!
