Las Cruces Sheriff’s Office Warns of Spike in Scams and Burglaries
An increase in burglaries and other property crimes has Las Cruces city law enforcement warning county residents to be extra cautious as the holiday season approaches.
Some areas of Doña Ana County have seen a spike in the number of reported burglary incidents, including the Fairacres and Picacho Hills neighborhoods and as far south as Santa Teresa. Deputies caution residents to be vigilant about locking doors and keeping valuables either in cars or in yards and through windows.
The city is advising residents to write down serial numbers of electronic devices and use for safe keeping in case they are stolen it will be easier to track them down. Also before you willing give any over the phone information please be cautious of if is is a valid company. Be aware of your surroundings and be safe!
