Las Cruces Police Say A Nearly Naked Man Killed A Puppy By Slamming It Down On A Porch

A Cloudcroft resident was arrested by Las Cruces Police for allegedly slamming a puppy down on the porch of a mobile home this weekend. LCPD was called out on reports of a man with little to no clothing running around a Cruces neighborhood. 36-year-old Jerome Shoberg was found after a couple found him in their yard holding a weeks-old puppy.

The homeowners said that when they tried to approach Shoberg to see if he was alright, he allegedly slammed the puppy on their porch before running off. The puppy died, and it is not clear who owned the puppy.

Shoberg was arrested a short time later and booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center with a secured bond set at $5,000.
