Las Cruces Man Suspected of Raping a 13-Year-Old-Girl

A Las Cruces man was arrested for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl.

Anthony "Tony" Robert Bramblett, 39 of Las Cruces has been arrested and charged with one count of criminal sexual penetration of a 13-year-old girl late Wednesday evening. The charge is a third-degree felony.

Around 1:30 a.m. Thursday June 11, the Las Cruces police were informed of the allegations and learned that the incident may have taken place at Bramblett's home on the 1000 block of Gilmer Way.

Police investigated the allegations and found out that late Wednesday evening Bramblett sexually assaulted the 13-year-old girl in his home in a bathroom. Sometime after the incident the girl left the home and told a relative of the incident. The relative then called the police.

The girl had known Bramblett for several years and it was not uncommon for her to spend the night. Police located Bramblett and took him into custody. He was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center where he is now being held without bond.
