Katy Perry has officially been confirmed as the half-time act for next year’s Super Bowl.

The news come after winning during last night’s American Music Awards, snatching up three honors, one for single of the year for her song Dark Horse, another for Favorite Female artist / Pop Rock, and one more for Favorite Artist / Adult Contemporary.

There had been rumors that Rihanna had been sought after for the spotlight performance but it is now official that Katy Perry will headline during half-time at next year’s Super Bowl.

Katy Perry will become the third female solo act to ever perform at the SuperBowl following Madonna back in 2012 and Beyonce in 2013. The Super Bowl will take place in Arizona on February 1st 2015.

Looks like Katy Perry is pretty hyped over her half-time show performance...
