U.S. district judge Alvin Hellerstein in Manhattan ordered Time Warner cable to pay up, and pay up big time. Araceli King of Irving, Texas was bombarded with robocall after robocall. 153 robocalls to be exact and that got Araceli $229,500 and Time Warner was accused of "behavior that violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991".

King had sued the same company last year after she had repeatedly told the company to stop the calls and even told Time Warner that they had gotten the wrong phone number. It seems someone in charge of the robocalls let it slip through the cracks and she kept getting the harassing phone calls still this year.

Susan Leepson, a Time Warner representative said the company is reviewing its options in the matter and determining how to proceed with the large lump payment to King.
