Team Bliss and officials from Soldier Outreach Services will conduct a "Tell Me a Story" event sponsor by the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC). On Saturday, April 6 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

“Tell Me a Story" is a literacy promotion event sponsor by the MCEC (Fort Bliss's Parent-to-Parent Team) for school age children of Survivors and Wounded Warriors.  This event involves the reading of an age appropriate book followed by arts and craft activities based upon the book.

This event will be for Survivors and Wounded Warriors' Families with school age children. Each family attending the event will receive a copy of the book read at the event, "Giraffes Can't Dance".

Special guest reader will be Mrs. Lucille Pittard, spouse of Maj. Gen. Dana J.H. Pittard, Commanding General of 1st Armored Division and Fort Bliss. Mrs. Pittard will read the book “Giraffes Can’t Dance,” by Giles Andreae.

MCEC (Fort Bliss's Parent-to-Parent Team) received a grant to conduct a "Tell Me a Story" event for Survivors or Wounded Warriors' Families with school age children (both groups are invited to attend). The event will be in the Adobe Room, at the Family Resiliency Center (Building 250), Club Road.

The Gold Star Wives will also receive a special tribute during this event due to the Congressional Resolution declaring April 5th, Gold Star Wives Day!
