May is National Bike Month and people all over are celebrating the joy of getting great exercise and a fun way to get around. Bring your mom and join in on CycloFemme's Mother's Day ride tomorrow!

National Bike Month was established in 1956 and is sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists. It is celebrated in biking communities from coast to coast, by biking enthusiasts and beginners alike. It is a month to celebrate all the good reasons there are to ride. From health reasons, environmental reasons or even just the pure joy of riding people love to ride their bikes.

CycloFemme is a grassroots movement to celebrate women on bikes. They are hosting a annual Mother's Day ride to unite "riders, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity or bicycle preference to share in the joy of cycling."

The ride begins tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Monarch, 204 E. Rio Grande Ave Suite C. This is what CycloFemme had to say about the annual ride:

Our annual Mother's Day ride has shown us that women are motivated to organize locally in their communities. We're looking for the next way to support these leaders where they live. Launching this year, CycloFemme will form Unité des Femmes-locally based "units" of women supported with tools, resources, and mentors to build their cycling communities.
