It’s Harder For a Woman To Rent An Apartment By Herself In El Paso

We all know that women earn less than men for the same job. Women earn about 78% of what men do on average. That number is a problem because not only do we not make as much money, it turns out that we are also having a tougher time finding housing if we don’t have a man in our life.

New research shows that if you are a woman who is trying to rent an apartment in El Paso on your own, you will most likely spend more than 30% of your income on housing, which is what the average man spends.

Because women make less, they struggle to make a rent payment that a single man would not struggle with because he is making more money. The research says buying a home is the better option for women in El Paso, but because of the wage gap, it would be more of a struggle for a single woman to save enough for a down payment on a home.

The wage gap is alive and well, and unfortunately for women, it doesn't look like it is going away anytime soon.
