ISIS Recruits Arrested Heading For El Paso

Two men were arrested traveling to El Paso. Once here, they intended to cross into Juarez, buy documents to travel overseas and join ISIS.

An El Paso Times article says Jason Michael Ludke and Yosvany Padilla-Conde were arrested Oct. 5 near San Angelo for "attempting to provide support to the Islamic State". Federal documents said the two men had been communicating, "via a social media platform", with an undercover agent.posing as an ISIS recruiter.

The article says Ludke converted to Islam and changed his name to Abuz Sayyaf or Muhammad Nassir. He said his brother-in-law, a Palestinian Muslim, directed him to El Paso.  After telling the undercover agent they were in Texas, they were stopped near San Angelo.

Ludke also had an outstanding warrant for removing his GPS bracelet, (a condition of his supervised release agreement), and Padilla-Conde was charged with additional "immigration-related" issues.
