The City of El Paso will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly remodeled Irving Schwartz Branch Library in East El Paso this weekend. 

Everyone is invited to the free celebration at the Irving Schwartz Branch Library where there will tours of the library, activities for the whole family, free refreshments, live music and more.

The renovation of the Irving Schwartz Library is a $2.1 million dollar project, which was funded by the 2012 Quality of Life Bond Program. The building was completely remodeled into a modern state of the art library that includes new dedicated areas for children and teens, a new enclosed 25-station computer classroom, a new meeting room with double the capacity as before, additional study rooms, a new circulation desk with built-in automatic check out machines, additional parking spaces, new landscaping and a public art piece by artist Michele R. Gutlove.
