You know that old joke where you make some kind of a statement -- like “hey, I’m having a party” -- pause for a second, then add “in my pants”?

This is kind of like that.

Only it wasn’t a party this guy had in his pants. It was a portable meth lab.

Police in Cedar Rapids, Iowa received a call on Monday about a suspicious-looking person walking around. When the responding officers arrived at the scene, they found a 46-year-old guy named Genio Ruiz who matched the description of the person they were to be on the lookout for, so naturally they stopped him for questioning.

They immediately noticed that he smelled like chemicals, and a quick search led to the discovery of some weed on him. As they were handcuffing him and patting him down, they found a 20-ounce soda bottle tucked in the waistband of his pants.

The pop bottle contained a “cloudy substance,” and lithium battery strips, which is known in law enforcement as a “one pot” style meth lab. Ruiz was charged with manufacturing and possession of a controlled substance.

(In his pants!)
