It's always such sad news to hear of tragic accidents like this one in Las Cruces over the weekend. Especially with the holidays coming up.

30-year-old Joseph Suder was pronounced dead on the scene when Las Cruces Police Officers arrived at the 6300 block of Weisner Rd. Suder was working on fabricated tire rims weighing approximately 400 pounds each at the auto shop. That's when investigators say that a large explosion happened while Suder was using ether to mount the rim onto the tire.

His body was taken to the New Mexico Office of the Medical Examiner in Albuquerque for a formal autopsy. Dona Ana Sheriff's Office has officially ruled his death an accident and no criminal charges will be filed. Suder was a former New Mexico State University football player originally from Arizona.
