If you plan to drive a fair amount this weekend, stay off your phone, obey all traffic rules and don't be a lead foot. You shouldn't anyway, but this weekend the end result could be a traffic citation.

El Paso Police along with El Paso County Sheriff's Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety will be seemingly everywhere through Saturday, November 12.

The marked increase in police presence will include over 100 troopers, deputies and officers across both the city and areas of the county.

The elevated presence is an attempt to reduce the number of wrecks and traffic fatalities throughout the county.
