You may have noticed that the colorful Airway lights aren’t spinning as they normally do. The Eggbeaters, as they are affectionately known, have a broken blade mechanism which makes them unable to move.

The good news is they can be repaired. The bad news is it's not going to be an easy fix. The piece that needs to be replaced is a custom-made item because the light installation is a unique art piece. In order to get the installation properly repaired, the artists who designed it will have to work with the City to make the determination about what fixes need to be made, how much it will cost, and who is going to pay for it.

City officials told KFOX that we should expect to see the eggbeaters spinning in the El Paso wind until later this summer or possibly early fall.
