Heads up: TxDot Crews will be shutting down a long stretch of I-10 in west El Paso this weekend.

This Sunday, January 6, ongoing construction related to the GO10 project will require a 27-hour closure of I-10 East from Redd Road to Sunland Park Drive beginning at 3 a.m. through 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7.

As a result, if you're coming in to town from the far west side you will be detoured at Redd to Doniphan. You’ll be able to reenter I-10 East at the Sunland Park entrance ramp, or you can continue on Doniphan to Paisano and reenter at the Executive Center entrance ramp.

Concurrently, the Redd Rd on-ramp to I-10 East and the N Mesa on-ramp to I-10 East will be shut down as well.

According to a notice on the GO10 website, work on the section will include changing traffic lane patterns on I-10 Eastbound between North Mesa Street and Resler. TxDot says expect to be driving on the main lanes of I-10 on Monday instead of the collector-distributor (CD) lanes that run alongside I-10 like you have been for the last several months.
