I-10 East Sunland Flyover Ramp to Close for 3 Nights

West El Paso commuters take note; the I-10 east entrance ramp at Sunland Park Drive will close for three nights beginning today, Monday, April 17.

The flyover ramp will be blocked nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Wednesday, April 19, as crews get things ready for its eventual permanent removal, according to a Texas Department of Transportation press release.

You are still able to enter I-10 from that direction, but you will have to continue straight and turn left at the traffic light at Sunland and Paisano.

The demolition of the flyover ramp is the next step in the complete overhaul of the I-10/Sunland Park Interchange. Below is a rendering of what the area will look like once the transformation is complete sometime in 2019.
