This weekend marks the return of the Holiday Movies at the Plaza series, and the initial lineup of classic Christmas movies aren't only family-friendly, five of the six are among America's favorite.

Saint Leo University Polling Institute recently surveyed Americans and asked them to name their favorite Christmas movie. Of the six being shown at the Plaza Theatre this weekend, all but The Muppet Christmas Carol made the list.

It’s a Wonderful Life was #2, A Christmas Story came in at #4, and Home Alone was 8th. White Christmas and The Santa Clause just missed the Top 10 at #11 and #12 respectively.

Miracle on 34th Street was named America's favorite Christmas movie.

I think most of us can agree that Christmas and movies go together like cookies and milk. That's why it's so nice to see this event revived after a four year hiatus.

The weather outside might not be all that frightful this weekend, but watching a Christmas movie in the historic Plaza Theatre will most certainly be delightful.

Get there a half hour before showtime and enjoy holiday music played on the original Plaza Mighty Wurlitzer Organ.
