The El Paso Community Foundation and El Paso Live will be spreading George Bailey-style holiday cheer this Sunday, Dec. 16, with a free screening of It’s a Wonderful Life at the Plaza Theatre.

Released in 1946, the Jimmy Stewart classic remains one of America's favorite Christmas movies of all-time. Its message of hope and family hearkens back to a more simpler time when Christmas wasn't so commercialized.

And that feeling will be extra nostalgic watching such a classic film in such a historic theater. It's a Wonderful Life will be shown for free this Sunday only as part of Holiday Movies at the Plaza.

Showtime is 3 p.m. No ticket needed, just show up.

Get there a half-hour early and watch organists Ken Fedorick, Richard Garven or Laurie Koval perform holiday music played on the original Plaza Mighty Wurlitzer Organ

"Merry Christmas, movie house!"
