Historic Magoffin Home To Hold May Day Event This Weekend

Downtown El Paso and the surrounding area is chock full o'history, and this weekend, a historical site on the edge of downtown will open its doors for a May Day celebration.

The Magoffin Home is holding a May Day Festival with live entertainment, local arts and crafts vendors, and food vendors. Take the beasties because there will be free activities for kids of all ages. The event is a fundraiser and all the proceeds will go towards preserving the Magoffin Home.

The home was built in 1877 by Joseph and Octavia Magoffin when El Paso was just a small frontier town. Magoffin family members lived in the home until 1986. In the different areas of the home, you can see the different eras of architecture and home design. It really is an El Paso gem that shouldn't be missed.

The history of El Paso is something that needs to be preserved, and through festivals like this one, we teach the younger generation about how amazing El Paso has been for hundreds of years, and how amazing it will continue to be into the future by taking care of our past.
