High Winds Force Cancellation of Tonight’s Scenic Drive Luminarias

High winds and blowing dust has forced the cancellation of tonight's 25th Annual Navidad De La Fe Luminarias.

Centro De Salud Familiar La Fe announced it was scraping the beloved holiday event via a post on its Facebook page.

It is with regret that we announce that tonight's 25th Annual Navidad De La Fe Luminarias have been cancelled due to this morning's and tonight's expected strong wind conditions."

It will not be rescheduled.

The spectacular event, which consists of over 4,000 luminarias placed along Scenic Drive, also serves as a fundraiser and canned food drive for families-in-need. Everything La Fe was to have collected tonight was going to be used to make sure those they serve have a happy Christmas.

Anyone still wishing to make a donation can drop off their canned goods or non-perishable foods at the La Fe Culture and and Technology Center, 721 South Ochoa (Rear Building), from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. this Monday through Friday, Dec. 19 -23. For more information, call (915) 545-7190.
