Helpful Recycling Tips During Football Season

As a friendly reminder the City of El Paso Environmental Services Department encourages fans to make sure and recycle during the football season.

Fans love their favorite teams and if you are at home or getting together to watch the games with your friends it’s always a smart move to recycle everything from plastic water bottles, aluminum cans, cartons and boxes.

The City of El Paso Environmental Services Department wants to remind fans that not only is recycling important but also to make sure that we are not putting non-recyclable items in the recycling bins, such as food and glass which can contaminate the rest of the items being recycled.

Helpful tips include:

• Use separate containers for trash and recycling
• Recyclable: Aluminum cans, plastic bottles and cardboard packaged products
• Not Recyclable: Pizza boxes and Styrofoam cups and plates
• Reduce waste and avoid paper plates instead use reusable plates that can be washed and used again.
