El Paso summers are pretty brutal, and for a lot of low income and elderly residents, paying for air conditioning is not possible. They make do with fans, but what happens if the cost of a fan is out of reach? That’s where the Extreme Weather Task Force steps in.

The high today should reach the low 90s, and with fewer than 200 fans in stock, the Extreme Weather Task Force was worried about helping needy families and the elderly stay cool this summer, but then Walmart on Dyer came to the rescue.

They gave the Task Force 350 fans, but that doesn’t mean they can’t use your help.

If you would like to donate a fan, you can drop off new fans at any El Paso fire station. If you or someone you know is in need of a fan, you can call 211 to get one from the Extreme Weather Task Force.
