We spoke with Christina Montoya this morning.  She is with the EPWU and she answered questions about last week's weather and all the havoc it wreaked.  She also gave us some information about the Leak Adjustment Program.....

If you were one of the thousands of people who lost a large amount of water because of a leak, Christina told us EPWU will work with you through the LEAK ADJUSTMENT PROGRAM.  You will have to be patient, however.  You have to wait until you next bill comes and then call customer service at 594-5500 when you receive your bill to apply.

It's going to be hard to wait for that first bill to come after this storm, but that's the only way to apply for the program.  Darren and I were super lucky - we didn't have any water problems, just low pressure a couple of days.  We did have a couple of neighbors who are dealing with tremendous plumbing problems, and watching them go through the hassles of getting things fixed is really hard.  I wish there was a way to make everything better instantly, but, hopefully, the LAP can help get things back on track for everyone who got hit so hard this past week.

The best thing about being in the media is being able to help our listeners.  Sometimes answers are hard to come, especially if all you can do is call a utility and get nothing but a busy signal, or worse, have to hang on the line for an hour.  I would love to help out.  Email me at tricia@ksii.com with questions about problems at your home that happened because of the storm.  I'll do my best to get them answered for you.
