Head Lice Mutate, Now Resistant to Treatment in 25 States — Including Texas

Scary times are ahead, and it has to do with your head. Lice, specifically head lice, are becoming resistant to over-the-counter treatments.

Most recently, California has joined the list of the 25 states in which head lice are now resistant to over-the-counter treatments. Hundreds of kids are coming home with itchy heads, and parents are buying over-the-counter treatments that just aren’t working.

In some cases, shaving the hair completely off has been the only option for some and staying home until the lice are completely gone.  The recommendations for parents everywhere is to send girls with long hair with a bun to school and to make sure they're not sharing hair brushes whatsoever. Lice spread very fast and won’t be apparent until the child begins scratching. Keep your kids safe!
