Background: Building was used as a multistory jail for over 50 years and is no longer in service. The caretaker staff had reported seeing shadows and hearing what sounded like voices and footsteps in the main area as well as other parts of the building. During the investigation, the decision was made to leave audio recorders on at different locations, lock up the building and go to a late dinner for about two hours.

"Recorder one was left near the entrance to the cell area, since this was where I and someone else had previously spotted a moving shadow," reported Galvan.  "The second one was placed in a hallway off the main floor which led to other cells."

LAUGH EVP: In this clip you can hear several voices from the two other investigators and one of the caretakers as they are walking and positioning the audio recorders. A loud laugh that sounds like it came from somewhere close to the recorder is heard, yet none of those present heard it at the time and it was loud enough that it couldn’t have been missed.

LAUGH EVP 2: The same laugh, but sounding further away, is recorded at the same time by the second recorder that was placed in the hallway.

FOOTSTEPS EVP: The caretakers have nicknamed whatever makes the sounds they hear "Bubba". In this recording, you hear one of the investigators say "This is my jail area, Bubba". Right after that, the sound of footsteps, possibly shoes or boots, is heard coming towards them. "We wear sneakers during investigations," said Galvan. "So these footsteps didn't come from any one of us."
