Happy Birthday, Mama Michelle Phillips!

I lived in San Diego in the mid to late 80's and everytime I hear 'California Dreamin' by the Mamas and the Papas, it takes me right back there.

Granted, I didn't live there in the 60's like birthday girl, Michelle Phillips, did, but the sound totally captures the totally unique vibe Southern California has.

Michelle Phillips was married to John Phillips and was the stepmother of Mackenzie Phillips who later made the world collectively throw up when she revealed she had had a, well, let's just call it a "close" relationship with her father, John.  Of course, she made those accusations after he had died and couldn't defend himself.

But let's move away from all that horribleness and instead take a step way, way, WAY back in time and do a little 'California Dreamin'!
