Great Moments in Broadcasting – Reporter Gets Microphone Knocked Out of Her Hand by a Baseball, Keeps Reporting

Sophie Minnaert, a sideline reporter with Fox Sports Wisconsin, came thisclose to getting beaned in the head on Saturday. Minnaert was doing a live camera shot from the dugout of the Milwaukee Brewers game, and someone hit a foul ball that knocked the microphone right out of her hand. She handled it like a pro, though, picking the mic up off the ground and going on with her report.

Minnaert was one lucky duck. An inch or so either way and it could have hit her in the face, or in the stomach, or broken the hand that was holding the mic.
