Spring is here ushering in the 2018 Great American Cleanup.

Every spring several neighborhood associations along with the Environmental Services Department take part in the annual cleanup throughout different locations across the Sun City.

Great American Cleanup will take place from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. this Saturday, March 24, 2018 at various locations throughout the city.

This year El Paso residents are encouraged to get rid of items in their homes such as unwanted bulky items, trash and properly dispose of these items at any of the 20 cleanup sites including providing roll-off trash containers for bigger items such as furniture, mattresses and larger items. Residents should be aware that the following items will not be accepted:

  • Tires
  • Household hazardous waste materials (paint, motor oil, and chemicals)
  • E-waste (cell phones, appliances, computers, etc.)
  • Batteries

El Paso residents can also physically drop off any extra trash or yard waste including oil and recyclables at any of the 5 Citizen Collection Stations at the following locations:

  • Far Eastside – 3510 Confederate
  • Eastside - 1034 Pendale
  • Northeast - 4507 Honda Pass
  • Central - 2492 Harrison
  • Westside - 121 Atlantic

Residents can also borrow yard tools, lawn mowers, shovels and rakes at any Citizen Collection Station or   pick up free materials such as mulch, reusable household products and reusable paint including re-purposed items. (Re-purposed items can only be picked up at the Citizen Collection Station located at 3510 Confederate.
