More than 1,000 volunteers representing 80 organizations from throughout Las Cruces have registered for the 21st annual Great American Cleanup to be held Saturday morning!

The city-wide cleanup is scheduled for 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 13. Last year 650 volunteers participated and collected roughly 10 tons of trash. Organizers hope to collect at least 15 tons of trash this year!

Some of the jobs the volunteers will participate in are,

Tree Stewards will plant 24 trees at Young Park.

The Juvenile Citation Program will paint a mural on the 700 block of south Espina Street.

The NMSU women’s soccer team will clean along Amador Avenue between Motel Boulevard and Valley Drive.

Six Las Cruces Public Schools – Valley View Elementary, University Hills Elementary, Columbia Elementary, Mesa Middle, Camino Real and Centennial High – will take part in a Campus Cleanup Program and beautification projects.

Good Job Las Cruces!
