El Paso has many gem restaurants including AJ’s Diner, which opened back in 1986 in west El Paso. It’s a throwback ‘50s inspired diner with a jukebox playing all your favorite oldies and all the staple classics on their menu like burgers, tuna melts, hot and cold sandwiches, salads and some of the best home-made milkshakes around including old fashioned phosphates, malts and egg creams.

This is another great diner whose decor is influenced by the ‘50s and ‘60s with authentic memorabilia lining their dining room walls, great food, a jukebox and even a neighborhood drug store soda fountain counter to add to the appeal of an era now gone.

While this diner is full of great pictures of the ‘50s and ‘60s along with the teal blue and white booths, their food is a mix of burgers, sandwiches and local El Paso Mexican food, including Bonny’s famous extra big burritos.

There used to be two locations once but now you can find only one location on the east side of town.
