El Paso temperatures are hitting triple digits and that means using your air conditioning to stay cool. It also means a pretty big spike in your electric bill. That jump in your consumption could mean a hole in your checking account, but El Paso Electric has a program that could help lessen the summertime electric bill hit.
The plan is called the Budget Billing Plan. Your yearly consumption is calculated and then divided by 12. You pay that amount, but there are a couple of things you need to know. Your credit history has to be satisfactory, and if you fail to pay your monthly bill, you could be removed from the plan.

If you would like to do the same thing with your Texas Gas Service bill, they also have a plan. It's called the Average Bill Calculation plan. The ABC Plan also averaged your annual natural gas consumption so you don't pay a big spike in the winter when it gets cold.

You can get more information and sign up for the ABC Plan here.

El Paso Water Utilities does not offer a bill averaging payment plan.
