This time of year sees the ghosties and goblins of Halloween, and something even scarier – your property tax bill. The City of El Paso Consolidated Tax Office will be coming to your mailbox soon as your 2016 property tax bill makes its annual appearance.

Property tax payments have to be paid by January 31 to avoid late payment penalties and fees. There are a bunch of different ways you can pay your property taxes. Go online to the tax office at www.elpasotexas.gov/tax-office/pay-your-taxes, or call them at 915-212-0106. You can pay with a credit card or with an e-check.

If you pay by mail, you need to have post marked no later than January 31. Send it to Tax Assessor/Collector Box 660271, Dallas, TX 75266-0271.

If you miss the deadline, you’ll have to send it to the City of El Paso Tax Office, Box 2992 El Paso, TX 79999-2992. If you are paying it late in person, go to the 3rd floor of the Wells Fargo building at 221 N. Kansas in downtown El Paso. That is where the City Tax Office is located. You can also pay at other El Paso are Wells Fargo locations, but you cannot pay through the drive through lanes.
