GECU Offering Last Minute Tax Filing Help Today

If you still haven't done your taxes and need help getting them done, you need to head to GECU. They are extending the hours of their Volunteer Income Tax Assistance service through today. GECU is working with the Coalition for Family Economic Progress to help qualifying taxpayers complete their income tax forms.

The tax filing deadline is today (Monday, April 18) because Washington D.C. celebrated Emancipation Day on Friday, April 15th. That gave most of the rest of the country until today to get those forms off to the IRS so they don't seize your assets.

GECU volunteers will be preparing taxes for free to qualifying taxpayers between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. today at the GECU Operations Center at 1225 Airway Blvd. To find out of you qualify, go to freetaxeselpaso.org.
