Future Hits Artist of the Week – Elle King

26-year-old Elle King grew up with a pair of very recognizable parents. Her mother is former model London King and her father is none other than SNL alum Rob Schneider. Thankfully for the music world, this has not prevented her from leaving her own mark on the entertainment industry.

King lists artists such as The Donnas (which her step-father introduced her to), The Runaways, Blondie and Otis Redding among others as her musical influences. After dabbling in acting during her teen years (she had a small part in her father’s movie, Deuce Bigelow: Male Gigolo) the fun-loving, sultry voiced singer focused on making music and broke through with the single Ex’s and Oh’s off her debut album Love Stuff.

That song which she recently admitted to writing as a joke on Good Morning America has earned her Grammy nominations for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance. Her follow up single, America’s Sweethearts, shows off her versatility and can currently be heard on Sunday mornings during KISS Future Hits.
