Ft. Bliss Library Adds Crafts Area
Mickelsen Community Library, at 2E Sheridan Road, added a MakerSpace!
- There is a hands-on, collaborative area equipped with iPads, whiteboards, a chalkboard wall, crate paper to draw on and a dedicated Lego wall. Tinker Toys also are available.
- An arts-and-crafts area features an embroidery machine. Patrons also can check out sewing machines to be used in the MakerSpace.
- The third area is a do-it-yourself section, where people can check out power and hand tools and work on their own projects. Tools need to be used in the MakerSpace.
- The final area is high-tech oriented and includes four computer terminals, a 3-D printer and machines that can cut vinyl, metal and cardboard.
Anyone over the age of 8 can access the areas which are open 1 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. For more info, call (915) 568-6170.
