The Florida State University library was the scene of a shooting early Thursday morning.

Myron May, the man who is believed to have been the shooter, used to work for the Las Cruces District Attorney's office, and barely resigned from his position there last month.

KFOX 14 reports that the New Mexico State Bar confirms that says the suspect, Myron May, was listed as an attorney for the Dona Ana District Attorney. May's former girlfriend in Las Cruces filed a police report last month, saying he harassed her.

Danielle Nixon told Las Cruces police that May had recently quit his job and developed a "severe mental disorder".

She said May told her that police had put cameras in his home and car. According to the report, May had recently travelled to Colorado for no reason. No charges were filed in connection with the complaint.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the students of FSU.
