There is nothing like summer reading. You, a book, a glass of iced tea, and the back porch of your house – that’s all you need for a little staycation. This weekend, you can stock up on books for the whole family, and they’re free.

The El Paso Herald Post reports that the Jalisco Café is holding its Second Annual Segundo Barrio Books & Raspa Giveway on the Fourth of July. You can grab books for your little ones, fiction and non-fiction for you. There will be autobiographies, history, fantasy, and many other genres as well. They are all gently-used and ready to take home. If you have some gently-used books you would like to donate, call Rick Melendrez at 915-565-1663.

While you’re taking a look at the books, enjoy a complimentary raspa from the Raspa Patrol. Books and raspas, what a great way to spend part of your Fourth of July.
